So this is the first official week of my Master of Fine Art Digital programme at CSM. I was excited and a bit apprehensive but I need not have worried.
We had our first weekly group session which will be every Tuesday afternoon.
There is a lovely mix of people from all backgrounds and I was relieved to see that there are other people of a similar age to me as I feared that I might be the oldest person!
We did a speed-date style introduction exercise and it was great to meet so many people so quickly. It’s amazing how in just three minute you can still build a connection with people.
The main part of the session that stands out to me is our workshop exercise about kindness. According to Google research, the most successful teams are those that are kind to each other. We discussed what kindness means to us, what it is like, what that means, and how it will apply to us in the course. It was a lovely way to start thinking about how we will all work together over the next two years.
I am excited and raring to go now that the course has officially kicked off. Onwards and upwards we go. With kindness of course…
