30/30 challenge – day 9

Continuing my challenge to create a new piece of art each day for 30 days.

Day 9 was, admittedly, a very busy day and I did not have the normal amount of time I would have liked to commit to creating my piece for today.

I wondered what I could make that would be fairly simple but still effective. Since I seem to like circles so much I figured that this would still work in amongst the rest of my body of work for this project. I usually try to attain some kind of perfection (in my mind) but am learning that sometimes I just have to do what’s good enough.

Is it an artistic masterpiece? No. Was it done within 20 minutes to meet the requirement for today? Yes. Am I sorry about it? No. Do I like it? Hmm actually I do quite like it but would I do a really large version of this? Probably no.

But all of this is okay. Sometimes life doesn’t give you all of the time that you need to get everything done. In my case it rarely does. So sometimes I have to accept that I’m not going to put out the quality of work that I want to. The good thing is that it’s still an expression of creativity and a moment of learning. And that’s good enough for today.
