Continuing my attempt to make a new piece of art every day for 30 days.
For Day 14 the prompt was “Domesticate your work” which I completely ignored. My daily life has enough domestication as it is, so I don’t want to translate that into my art too!
I had an idea of making some kind of triptych, but then being me and liking even numbers I tried to make something with four panels:

This piece takes elements of the piece I did on day 5:

But for my “Quadtych” (is that even a word?!?) I decided to make it a bit more complicated and have the design go across the different sections.
I really enjoyed making this piece. It was enjoyable to find ways to have the circles and lines cut across the sections without it being too much. I really like how emphasising the connection points brings a different vibe to the piece if it didn’t have that extra detail. It somehow makes the design softer and more sophisticated looking to me.
I’m not sure how this piece would translate into a larger scale. Would i create a “quadtych” all on one canvas, or create four pieces on separate canvases and hang them together? That style of multiple canvases always feels so old fashioned to me, but maybe they’re making a comeback? That is yet to discover!
