The last three days of my challenge to create a new artwork every day for thirty days.
On this day I was actually away skiing in Italy so I didn’t have as much time as usual. The prompt for this day was “Title your work with the cost of making it.” Since the cost of making all of my pieces is primarily just the time it takes to make them, the prompt just didn’t seem to apply.
I decided to create something simple but bold, that follows much of the constructivist style but simplified.

I used my motifs of circles and lines, but gave it more of a mid-century feel. The shapes outside the circles give the piece some movement, as if the circles are echoing across the canvas.
I quite like how it turned out. It is not as detailed or complicated than some of my other pieces by I’m happy with the result.
