On Wednesday this week we held a private view evening for this year’s New Constructivists show. There was a good turnout of people from all walks of life.
I displayed a version of my piece from the Interim show plus two pieces that I’ve made since.
All evening there was at least one person standing in front of my interim piece(s) looking at the different A5 patterns. It was interesting that everyone seemed to want to find their “favourite”, and that each person chose different pieces for different reasons. It was lovely to have so much interest in my work.
I had quite a long conversation with a gentlemen who used to work for the National Office of Statistics and we had quite a good discussion about data and information. This was particularly useful for me as I seek out how to incorporate data into my research project. He gave me some good ideas that I’m going to explore further!
The work by my fellow Constructivists was excellent. We are all very supportive of each other so it is a lovely group to be a part of.
The show is still on for another week should anyone be in the Chelsea area!
